Advocacy for low-income residents, seniors, and the disabled; Application assistance for Medicare and Medicare Part D

Bills paid with crisis response funds of 20 churches for low-income residents; Brain Fitness Program for adults to enhance memory through improved auditory processing

Crisis response for medical needs, household emergency needs, etc. with Church, individual, and grant funding; Coordinate and partner with other agencies to help low-income and/or disabled residents (Council of Community Services, LOA, TAP, Blue Ridge Independent Living Center, Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare, Legal Aid Society of Roanoke Valley, CHIP, etc.

Donations to the BRC recycling program of clothes, appliances, school supplies, household items, etc. received and redistributed throughout the county to needy residents

Exercise and recreation programs for adults, seniors and the disabled

Medical equipment loan program partnership with Pleasant Hill Baptist Church

Name referral of needy clients given to civic organizations, businesses, churches, etc. to receive help on holidays

Only Center of its kind to offer a case-managed comprehensive scope of services to every age group through information, advocacy, programs and referral

Prescription assistance for seniors and the disabled ; Presentations on Family Budgeting, Self Defense, Mail Fraud, Telemarketing, Medicare Part D, etc.

Questions answered about nursing homes, school scholarships, summer camps, medical assistance, etc.

Repair of homes for low-income seniors and the disabled

Safety for low-income seniors and the disabled through the distribution of carbon-monoxide detectors, smoke alarms, etc. in partnership with League of Older Americans/Area Agency on Aging

Transportation assistance for low-income seniors and the disabled

Unusual requests - help bury a pet, get a part for a wheelchair, etc.

Veteran’s assistance with doctor’s appointments, transportation, etc.; Volunteer program of care giving throughout the county

Winterize homes for low-income seniors and the disabled

Xerox important papers for low-income residents

Yearly assistance in filling out applications for benefits, assistance, etc.
