Programs like Child Care Link and Smart Beginnings of Greater Roanoke make it easier to find quality child care that ensures necessary skills to excel in school. Governor Bob McDonnell has proclaimed August as “School Readiness Month” encouraging everyone “to recognize that high quality early childhood experiences are essential to produce the next generation of productive, effective workers, which will lead to the future prosperity of Virginia.”
