Symposium Scholarships Available:
Virginia Community Capital and the Roanoke Regional Housing Network are partnering to offer a limited number of scholarships to attend the Network’s bi annual Housing Symposium: Livable Communities. This year, the Symposium will offer individuals the opportunity to attend a variety of training sessions focusing on a range of affordable housing topics including, best practices, universal design and financing. This year’s keynote speaker will be Nikki Giovanni, world renowned poet, writer, activist and educator.
If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please email Thia Atkinson catkinson@vccva.org for an application. Scholarships are available on a first come, first served basis and VCC reserves the right to limit the number of scholarships per organization, sector, or region.
The mission of RRHN is to provide a forum for the region’s housing interests to become proactively involved with housing issues. The Network will bring together diverse and complementary interests to promote discussion and facilitate action.
The Roanoke Regional Housing Network ( A standing Committee of the Council of Community Services) is a diverse group of people and organizations interested and involved in issues related to housing. Click here for a list of member organizations.
The Network is the only organization in the region that:
- Advocates equal opportunities for all types of housing throughout the Roanoke region, for ALL income levels and population groups;
- Promotes comprehensive initiatives and strategies to enhance housings contribution to the region;
- Facilitates cooperation and communications among housing interests;
- Sponsors dialogue and understanding of housing issues.
